If you cannot - or choose not to - vote at your polling location on Election Day, you have two alternatives:
Early Voting - Casting your vote in person at one of 9 early voting locations in Middlesex County
Voting By Mail - Request a vote-by-mail ballot and send it in by 8pm on Election Day.
EARLY VOTING
Registered voters can cast their ballots in person using voting machines during a 5-day period prior to Election Day. For the upcoming primary election these are the early voting dates and times:
Dates: May 29, 2024 through June 2, 2024
Hours: Monday-Saturday 10am - 8pm and Sunday 10am to 6pm
No appointment is necessary

VOTING BY MAIL
Any active, registered voter can request a vote-by-mail ballot.
To request a mail-in ballot
Mail or call in a request to the Middlesex County Clerk no later than 7 days prior to the election. For the upcoming primary election, the deadline to request a mail-in ballot is May 28, 2024.

To vote using a mail-in ballot
Mail-in ballots must be returned no later than 8 p.m. on Election Day. Ballots can be returned any of the following ways:

An authorized ballot drop box - Deposited in one one of the county’s secure authorized ballot drop boxes. Highland Park’s is in front of Borough Hall (221 South 5th Ave).
US Mail. Must be postmarked on or before 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.
